1st chichen chasers walk

The 1st very successful walk took place on Saturday 17 March. Jaimie reports.

11 folks and Caroline's dog Lola braved the initial snow, before it quickly stopped and over the course of an hour and a half we enjoyed a nice 3 mile walk around the glorious paths of Chapmanslade, with a lovely winter scene. The walk was followed by a drink in the pub as a way of reward, in front of the warming fire.

27 people and 5 well behaved dogs joined the 2nd Fantastic Footpaths Walk in lovely spring sunshine on the 14th April - starting and finishing at The Three Horseshoes. Again it was around 3 miles with a few hills. The walk was completed with a well earned drink in the pub's lovely garden.

Another glorious day greeted the Chicken Chasers on their 3rd walk around the footpaths and lanes of Chapmanslade on Sunday morning, May 20th.

A re-planned route to avoid fields of cows and their young calves took the fifteen strong group through the last of the bluebells in Black Dog Woods and the buttercups and wild flowers in the fields near Corsley Mill.

The walk finished in the glorious sunshine of the garden at The Three Horseshoes with a well earned lemonade for the young ones and a cider for a few of the adults.

Some of our footpaths are diificult to pass. This one on the left is overgrown with nettles and brambles with little room for the footpath. Why not Adopt a footpath of your choice or join one of the Chicken Chasers Walks?
