Chicken Chasers May 2019 Walk

Reported by Jaimie Shore

The Chapmanslade Chicken Chasers had another enjoyable walk in May with fine warm weather on a Sunday morning.

The Chasers started by heading along Wood Lane and down through Black Dog woods, observing the last of the bluebells as the ferns and new vegetation come on through.
The merry band strolled on past the village hall, heading left at footpath Chap 2 observing the super new sign put up by Adam Oakley, and picking up two walkers from Bath who were keen to avoid the cows at Heath House Farm. A right past the freshly shorn alpacas took the path downhill to Spring Farm and onto Mill lane, past the old rectory and a right at the fork past Water Farm.
The group took a left at the top of the hill heading back towards Dye House Farm and finishing up at the pub for refreshments in the garden.  The walk was filled with chatter, and was interspersed with the odd stop to rest and admire the views.
Our next walk will be on Saturday 29th June at 4pm, followed up with a summers evening walk on Wednesday 31st July, at 7pm.
We’ll be meeting as usual at the Three Horseshoes for a walk of around 3 miles.
